Mirrors and Windows: Raising intercultural awareness in the primary classroom – with Macmillan Education
The aim of this session is to explore the importance of including cultural elements alongside language learning to foster curiosity, interest and open-mindedness in young children.
Bringing the wider world into the primary classroom provides not only a window towards other cultures, but also a mirror for recognizing elements of one’s own culture.
This concept of culture as mirror and window, will be illustrated with a range of practical ideas and activities for your primary classroom.
