Dave Harwell is the Director of Data Analytics and Academic Planning for HMH – Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
In Dave’s previous leadership roles as a public education administrator, he successfully made positive changes in different school districts. First, he served as an elementary principal. Working collaboratively with his team, the school was turned around to make AYP – Annual Yearly Progress, received an ‘A’ on the State’s Report Card, and was listed on the Beating the Odds List. This same accomplishment was achieved while serving as Assistant Superintendent.
Lastly, he began working with a school district where the high school was the second lowest achieving high school in the state and was under the PLA – Persistently Low Achieving List. In two years, the school was taken off of the PLA list and was recognized for Significant Student Growth and Achievement.
Since becoming a member of the HMH team, Dave has had the opportunity to make a significant impact with school districts by providing academic planning and analytics to improve, increase, and enhance student achievement.
