The Pathway to Becoming an Inspirational Teacher – with Collins International Webinars

Inspirational teaching is a well-researched field, and the benefits that it brings to student learning and motivation are vital. Although the characteristics of inspirational teaching practice have been studied, there is no clear, universally recognised framework for understanding them.

In this webinar, current teacher and Dean of Admissions at The Global College Spain, Stephen will outline the results of his research into the benefits and characteristics of inspirational teaching, including a hierarchical model developed to summarise and conceptualise its main features.

Stephen Rowcliffe – Dean of Admissions & Biology Teacher, The Global College Madrid

Stephen Rowcliffe started his teaching career at a British Boarding School in 2002, after studying Biology at Bristol University. Since then, he has taught in Vietnam, Chile, Canada, and most recently Singapore, where he has spent most of the past 15 years as a Head of Department at the United World College of Southeast Asia. He holds an MSc and a MA in Education, and has published over a dozen academic articles in academic journals. Steve is currently the Dean of Admissions and also teaches Biology at The Global College in Madrid. 

The webinar is in collaboration with ISN for the Collins sponsored Writing Competition, which sought to shine a light on international teachers aspiring to become writers.
